A few weeks ago, I started reading Leadership Not By the Book by David Green thinking it might inspire a single podcast episode.
Instead, somewhere between the introduction and chapter one, I realized this might end up becoming an entire summer conversation.
Because the deeper I get into this book, the more I keep wrestling with questions like:
What does it actually look like to lead a business with God at the center of it?
What’s the difference between ownership and stewardship?
And why do so many of us exhaust ourselves trying to copy someone else’s path when God may never have intended our businesses to look the same in the first place?
In this first episode, I’m sharing some of the thoughts, questions, and convictions that came up for me while reading through the introduction and first chapter.
Not from the perspective of someone who has it all figured out…just honestly processing what I’m learning as I grow this business and try to follow God well in the middle of it.
If you’ve ever wrestled with calling, comparison, surrender, leadership, or trying to build a business without losing yourself spiritually in the process, I think this series is going to be a really meaningful one.
