What if one of the reasons you feel stuck in your business is simply that you have too many choices to make?

In this episode of the Godly Business Leadership series, I’m talking about one of the most practical lessons I took away from David Green’s Leadership Not by the Book: choose simplicity, not perfection.

As solopreneurs, we’re making decisions constantly. What should I work on today? What should I sell? What content should I create? What system should I use? What needs to be fixed? What am I missing?

And eventually, all those choices can create so much decision fatigue that we stop moving forward altogether.

I’m sharing how I’ve seen this play out in my own business, why I now try to intentionally reduce the number of decisions I have to make, and why templates and simple systems can be so powerful.

But the biggest lesson from this chapter surprised me.

When I turned to Numbers 13 and 14, I saw a connection between simplicity and something much deeper: faith versus fear.

The Israelites saw the same land. They saw the same obstacles. But most of them focused on what they were afraid they couldn’t do. Caleb saw those same obstacles, but he trusted that God was bigger than them.

And I think Christian business owners face that same choice all the time.

We can focus on everything that looks too big, too hard, too competitive, or too far beyond our abilities—or we can trust that God is capable of doing what He has called us to do.

If your business feels overwhelming right now, maybe the answer isn’t to add another strategy. Maybe it’s to simplify.

And maybe it’s time to ask yourself: How many choices am I making in my business every week?
